2019 is coming to an end, it's time to take stock of the boat shows in France and elsewhere!

Highly anticipated events every year, boat shows welcome a considerable number of visitors and exhibitors from all over the world every year. All boat enthusiasts therefore find themselves at these various privileged events perfect for considering the purchase of a boat. All kinds of boats are exhibited both docked and afloat: motor boats, sails, semi-rigid... and it's sometimes possible to try out some of the boats exhibited afloat.

Overview of the most visited boat shows in 2019

The 2019 editions of the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Miami Boat Show, Boot de Düsseldorf or the Paris International Boat Show are over and have unveiled a unanimous result: the boating sector is doing well!

There has been a considerable increase in the number of pleasure boat registrations: 3162 new registrations were issued between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019 in Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur*.

The number of new and used boats sold in France continues to grow, resulting in a 5% increase in sales for the 2018/2019 financial year compared to the previous year. France is still the leading manufacturer of pleasure boats in Europe and the second largest in the world and intends to remain so.

• Yachting Festival Cannes 2019

Organised since 1977, this event has become a well-known event and has become THE rendezvous not to be missed for all boating professionals. And for good reason, with more than 120 sailing boats presented at Port Canto in the Bay of Cannes, the Yachting Festival is today the largest exhibition in the world of new sailing boats in the water.

In September 2019 no less than 611 exhibitors and 54,000 visitors make up the balance of the event. An excellent balance sheet since the Cannes show shows a 12% increase in the number of exhibitors and an increase of about 6% in the number of visitors.

• Boot Düsseldorf 2019

This is the largest boat show in the world of yachting in Europe!

The Boot Düsseldorf is a must-see event in the world of yachting and this year again, the German boat show is full to bursting point!

In January 2019, 2000 exhibitors, including more than 100 French exhibitors from 74 countries, took their place at Boot Düsseldorf on 220,000 m². Attendance was matched by 250,000 visitors from 118 countries who flocked to the fair's aisles.

There was a 4% increase in the number of exhibitors and a 1.21% increase in visitor numbers in just one year.

• Miami Boat Show 2019

As the largest North American boat show and one of the most important boat shows in the United States, the Miami Boat Show attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year.

The last luxury Miami Boat Show in February 2019 had no less than 825 exhibitors from all over the world and 204,000 visitors.

The Boat Show of Miami thus shows an excellent balance sheet with 1,400 exhibited units and an economic impact higher than 2.5 times that of the Super Bowl, that is to say 854 million dollars!

• Paris Nautic Boat Show 2019

Even if the Paris International Boat Show suffered in December from the consequences of the national strike paralysing transport in particular, the 825 exhibitors were still able to achieve sales of motor boats and sailing boats.

In 2018, the nautical industry's turnover will reach 5.1 billion euros and growth will continue to grow.

This progression is explained by the fact that the acquisition of a boat is today more accessible to all and thanks to the constant evolution in the choice of products: sailing and motor boats of different sizes, equipment, all the services facilitating leisure activities...

In 2019, the nautical sector will represent 15% of the weight of the blue economy**.
